Nwabali set to sign for Belgian Club Union st Gilloise

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali is set to sign for Belgian Club Union st Gilloise at the end of the ongoing Africa cup of Nations, Bet Extract reports.

The Chippa United goalkeeper’s impressive performances at the AFCON have caught the eye of Victor Boniface’s former Belgian club side, Union Saint-Gilloise.

As Nigeria’s starting goalkeeper for the AFCON, Nwabali has shown promise by maintaining four clean sheets in five games and producing clutch saves to help the Super Eagles advance to the semifinals against South Africa.

According to reports, Union Saint-Gilloise has sent scouts to observe Nwabali’s performances, and the club is pleased with his efforts. The Nigerian goalie is presently being considered for a transfer by the Belgian team.

His current team, Chippa United, will financially profit from a transfer in the upcoming week. If Nwabali leaves, the South African team will be unable to sign a replacement due to a transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

The 1.97-meter-tall goalie even though seemed interested in the move is currently more focused on performing well for the national squad if left in charge.

In order to win their fourth AFCON trophy, Nigeria will need to defeat South Africa and proceed to the finals against Congo or Ivory Coast.
